Who Are We?

We are educators, artists, administrators and volunteers.

Now in its 56th season, the San Francisco Arts Education Project thrives in that extraordinary zone between children and their creative potential. Working with professional artists in the performing and visual arts, more than 300,000 children have participated directly in the arts through SFArtsED – nearly 7,000 kids last year alone. Nothing thrills us more than seeing a child participate in the arts, thriving, building self-confidence, honing communication skills and becoming the kind of broad-minded, open-hearted adults who will brighten our planet.

The Staff

Dream team.

Although our core organization runs lean–in order to reach as many children as possible–our staff is long on talent, experience, and enthusiasm. Culled from the fields of dance, art, drama, development, and education, we thrive in a warm and creative environment that fosters ongoing collaborations with some of the most outstanding visual and performing artists in the Bay Area.

Meet Our Artists

Our Artists

For an organization dedicated to bringing together career artists and children, there are few better places to be based than San Francisco.

We are fortunate to have so many talented practitioners in our midst, who also embrace our passion for education and belief in the power of art to transform young lives. All Artists-in-Residence undergo a rigorous interview process that includes live demonstration classroom work, and many are bilingual. Those artists who have worked with children in our programs for more than seven years—be it in the classroom, at summer camp, during after-school programs, and leading weekend workshops—all the while maintaining and expanding their own artistic practices, earn the title of SFArtsED Master Artist.

The following artists may be part of the SFArtsED Summer 2025 roster.
